Pie Crust

This pie crust recipe was passed on to me from Sam’s mom, and I believe it’s similar to the recipe my mom uses. I can’t bring myself to bake a pie right now because of all the Thanksgiving dinner food I’ve eaten, but I hope to soon. I recently bought a pastry mat (because our kitchen counters are tile, not flat), so making a pie crust should be easier. The last time I made one in my kitchen, I had to put wax paper on the kitchen table to roll the dough out on – it was not easy! 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold water

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Mix the first 3 ingredients together until little balls form.
  2. Add ice-cold water; mix with fork or pastry cutter.
