Yam Fries


  • 1 large yam (or 2 large sweet potatoes*)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1-2 tablespoons ground sugar
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Cooking spray


  1. Peel yams and cut into thin strips
  2. Combine oil, cinnamon, and coriander in a large bowl; stir well
  3. Add potato strips and toss well to coat
  4. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray and spread potato strips on baking sheet in a single layer; sprinkle with brown sugar and sea salt (the next time we make these, we might add the brown sugar to the oil mixture instead)
  5. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes or until browned, turning after 15 minutes

*Yams and sweet potatoes, while both tubers, are in fact different
